Debate Question
If I could have argued another debate, I would argue for (pro side) impeachment of Trump. When the pros were arguing this side during the debate, I felt that their arguments were strong but during the cross fires they weren’t aggressive enough to support their arguments. The cons side were mainly debating that instead of impeaching Trump this late in his term, they should just rely on the polls to not re-elect Trump. This argument was what the cons mainly talked about during their entire debate. Since the cons were very aggressive, the pros were having a bit of trouble fighting back. I feel that if they did get more counter arguments then they can eliminate the cons biggest point. If I was debating against the cons, I would include the fact that we cannot completely rely on the polls to not elect Trump again. I would have elaborated on that counter argument continuously to show the audience that the cons biggest point isn't that strong. No one can really tell if Trump is going to be re-elected or not, so the cons just assuming that he wouldn’t be re-elected isn’t very reliable. The Politico/Morning Consult Survey (that was conducted very recently- on Wednesday, October 30) states that 56% of voters believe that Trump will be re-elected. That’s the majority, so using this piece of data could help in my pro argument for the impeachment of Trump. To conclude, the impeachment of Trump debate was very entertaining and educated to watch, which is why I would love to debate the pro side of this argument.
